Lab Rules
The COEHS Microcomputer Lab is open to current SIUC students and employees only.
Users of the COEHS Microcomputer Lab have no explicit or implicit expectation of privacy.
- You must:
- Show your SIUC identification card when requested.
- Be considerate of other lab users -- this is a study area.
- Pay $0.10 per copy for black-and-white laser printing.
- Pay $0.90 per copy for color printing.
- Comply with the Information Technology: Electronic Information Privacy policy .
- Comply with the Illinois Computer Crime Prevention Law and the Computing Policies of the Board of Trustees of SIU.
- You may not
- Bring food or beverages into the lab.
- Use tobacco in any form.
- Install, copy, or reconfigure software -- this includes e-mail POP clients such as Netscape and Eudora.
- Download or save files to the workstation hard drive -- you must provide your own diskette/CD/thumb drive OR save files to the StudentStorage server space, available from the desktop of each lab computer..
- Reboot or turn off a computer.
- Display or print sexually explicit images.
- Failure to follow these rules may result in suspension of lab privileges or other disciplinary action.
